Good Vibrations: Crystals and Essences

Good Vibrations: Crystals and Essences

When I had a store in Manhattan, I used to smudge it regularly. A store is a public place, and that means anyone can come in, bringing their vibrations with them.

My crystal store mainly attracted people who loved crystals, and that created good energy. Some people came in out of curiosity, which was neutral, and some came in and felt uncomfortable. They were experiencing vibrations that were unfamiliar to them, and some tried to cover up their discomfort by acting scornful.

Daily smudging was the best way to keep the vibrations in the store high.

Since 1996 my store has been in my garage, and the only visitors are the UPS and Fedex delivery people. I got careless about smudging, conveniently forgetting that my vibrations counted, too. I smudged, but not as often as was needed.

Recently, I noticed that I wasn't feeling as good as I could about the business. I worked with dissolving negative emotions, but they seemed to bounce right back into existence. I picked up a smudge stick and went to work. After smudging the office, I moved into the house and did some more smudging.

The results were almost instantaneous. Emails came from customers who wanted to tell us how much they loved what they'd ordered. I got nice comments about the newsletters I write. Business improved, and my spirits lifted.

I think it no coincidence that we started getting more wildlife in the background. Goldfinches and purple finches began to hang out at the bird feeder, and a raccoon mother and her three cubs loitered in the back yard. At the same time, visits from the bears (see previous post) decreased. The masses of growth I'd thought were poison ivy turned out to be wild strawberry vines with brilliant red berries.

Do you find that you need to lift your own spirits? Get a smudge stick, and let the psychic upliftment begin.

Ah, I see. There does seem to be spell check here. I just typed it as one word and got the wiggly red line.

Oh, this is wonderful. I am writing a new article on smudging for the newsletter, and I would love to quote your children asking where the smudge stick. What a great thing for them to learn.

Great advice, I regularly smudge even though my children think that I am "stinking" up the house, but when the 3 year old throws one of his typical tantrums they are very quick to ask where the smudge stick is :)
